Thanks to Alpha Scouts for the following report:
Bewl Water Sports Weekend 2015
In June 2015 4th Uckfield Alpha & Phoenix Troops took 7 Scouts to Bewl for their Scout & Guide weekend. The weather was beautiful so we didn’t need to take too much in the way of shelter.
We arrived on Friday evening, parents dropped Scouts off and after they had pitched their tents they went of for introductions and briefings with the organisers.
On Saturday morning they went off again for their chosen water sport; Jay, who has much experience sailing, went off with them, Jonathan had a cycle around and I read my book in the sunshine! We fed and watered them, made sure they were ok and took many photos. In the evening the Scouts went off for a theory session.
On Sunday, whilst the Scouts were on the water, Jay cycled around Bewl while Jonathan and I had a lovely walk around part of the lake. When parents arrived to collect in the afternoon there was an awards ceremony (more photos) then we all went home after a really great weekend.

The hardwork of many of our Beavers and Cubs was rewarded today when they were presented with their Bronze or Silver Chief Scouts Awards by New District Commissioner, Ashley Jones, at the Uckfield Civic Centre.
They were joined by The new County Commissioner, John Easton, and The Mayor of Crowborough, Cllr. Ron Read & Deputy Mayor of Uckfield, Cllr. Duncan Bennett.
A huge thanks to all the guests, parents and leaders as well as the Scout Active Support section for facilitating the whole event.
