Scout Active Support Unit allows people to give their time to Scouting on a flexible basis. People can still be involved in Scouting without the full-time commitment of being a leader.
It provides a resource for Managers of local Scouting including Group Scout Leaders, District Commissioners and County/Area Commissioners, who can use it in whichever way is required.
In Ashdown District we are encouraging all adults over 25years old, that’s right the SAS is not just for retired Scout Leaders, to join this section where they are not volunteering regularly within the District, a Group or a Section. This helps us keep contact details for all adults with experience and skills which are valuable to Scouting in Ashdown.
The SAS meet regularly and do hold their own events and activities as well as assist across the District.
Currently Our SAS Manager role is vacant. If you’re interested in joining the SAS Unit OR becoming the SAS Manager then please contact Grant Kerwin-Nye – District Commissioner (Contact him here) and he is waiting for your call to join the team.
